Septacrypt
A story-game kernel on Umwelt, in two private repositories: a world, ledger and quest core, and a host that plays a public-domain novel as a game where the unwritten chapters stay in superposition until you read them.

What it is
Septacrypt is a small game kernel built on the Umwelt engine. A session holds a world of zones; players look, wait and stir; every wait evolves every zone, not only the one on screen; and what a player sees is derived from the belief, never from the hidden ground truth.
The core keeps a witnessed history. A checkpoint is stamped only after a real replay of the world between anchors, and in certified mode a failed stamp rolls back instead of silently re-anchoring. Routines start in shadow mode and go live only when promoted, the same law as the engine underneath.
The host repository plays Star Pod, a public-domain novel, as a story game: the manuscript is the board and the unwritten chapters are live superposition that you write by observing them. It is a standard-library HTTP server over a frozen JSON contract, so a front end in any language can drive it, and a proof runs a seed-deterministic game to quest victory over HTTP.
What exists today
Both repositories are private (private, withheld). Last pushed 29 July 2026. Core: 13 test files plus executable proofs. Host: 21 test files plus the HTTP-loop proof. Playable on a fresh machine in five commands. No hosted instance.
Not done
No hosted instance: the playable web manuscript runs on your own machine.
Umwelt’s ledger lists product integration of this kernel as owed: the loop where switching the engine off makes the game measurably worse is not yet measured.
Next
A hosted demo of the Star Pod manuscript, then the measurement the engine’s ledger is owed.
